Home/Headstone Installation
Headstone Installation in Oklahoma & North Texas
Installation is included with every Gifford monument. We handle the cemetery approval, foundation and setting, and we manage it like a job site, from written scope to punch list.
Who installs headstones?
Gifford's own crews install the monuments we make. Installation is included with every monument, and we handle cemetery coordination and permits. That is the same answer on our installation services page.
Some cemeteries require their own setters or approved contractors. National cemeteries are one case: installation there is with approved contractors. We confirm what your cemetery requires before we schedule. If you already bought a stone from another company, call us. We will tell you whether we can set it. We do not promise that we set every stone, no matter who made it.

The installation process
Cemetery coordination, then the foundation, then setting, then final checks.
- 1
Cemetery coordination
Before installation day we verify the cemetery's regulations, obtain the setting permit it requires, schedule during the hours it allows, and confirm the plot location and boundaries.
- 2
Foundation
Where the cemetery or the monument type requires it, we pour a concrete foundation and let it cure, typically 2–4 weeks, so the base is level and stable before the stone is set.
- 3
Setting
Our crews set the monument with the equipment the stone requires, level and align it, and bond the sections.
- 4
Final checks
Before we leave, we confirm the monument is level and plumb, the sections are bonded, the alignment matches the cemetery's requirements, the plot placement is correct, and the surrounding area is cleaned.
Run like a construction project
A headstone is a project. Drawing from our ownership's background in commercial construction, we manage installation like a job site: the cemetery's rules confirmed before we schedule, a written scope before we cut the stone, and a final inspection before we leave. That inspection is the punch list: the monument is level and plumb, the sections are bonded, the placement matches the plot, and the site is clean.
Our owner brought this from commercial construction, where a capped price is called a not-to-exceed contract. We just call it fair.
How long until it's installed?
A standard monument typically takes 8–12 weeks from order to installation. Simple flat markers may be ready in 6–8 weeks. Elaborate custom monuments can take 12–16 weeks. Installation is scheduled 1–2 weeks after production completes. A foundation typically needs 2–4 weeks to cure. Weather, and the cemetery's own rules, can add time.
The phase-by-phase schedule is on our monument production timeline.
Where we install
Showrooms are in Ada, Oklahoma and Wylie, Texas. We install across Oklahoma and North Texas, and we confirm the cemetery's written rules before we schedule.
Guarantee
We stand behind craftsmanship and installation. The granite guarantee covers the structural integrity and durability of the granite for the lifetime of the memorial. If a defect attributable to the quality of the stone itself arises, we repair or replace the affected portion at no cost to you.
If an issue related to our craftsmanship or installation becomes apparent within ten years of placement — improper setting, an uneven foundation, or a workmanship defect — we correct or restore the memorial at no additional charge.
