Confetti Black Base Monument - Maxwell Cemetery, Oil Center, OK

This monument features a subtly curved arch at its top, enclosing a polished central panel where the engraved text resides. The inscription "LOVING DAD AND PAPA" is rendered in a smaller, elegant serif font, followed by the namesake "DONNIE G. PIERCE" in a more prominent, bold serif font, and then the dates in the elegant serif again. A vibrant carving of a bass leaping from water, complete with splash details and an etched fly bait, adorns the lower left of the polished panel, adding a personal touch related to the individual's interests. A compact, rectangular granite vase stands beside the main monument, its simple form and dark speckled granite complementing the overall polished stone aesthetic. The monument rests on a broader, darker gray base, creating a subtle visual contrast with the main upright slab's lighter tone.
